Learn About What's Happening

In short in 2019 Sudan had an uprising that put control of the country in the hands of the people, instead of a military dictatorship like it had previously been. However this victory was short lived, and currently the leaders of the SAF and the RSF are at war, leaving the Sudanese people caught in the cross fire.

This video goes into detail on what is happening in Sudan but I recommend watching the whole playlist.

  • Additionally some creators will donate the funds made from certain videos to the cause, so look into those as well.

Reach Out To Your Representatives

Whether that be calling, emailing, or writing letters to Congress, Parliament, etc your voice matters, the more they hear about it the harder it is for them to avoid. You can find a letter to fill out here: eyesonsudane.net/email-your-rep

Uplift Their Voices

Uplift the voices talking about what's happening in Sudan anytime you see them! You can do this by commenting things like this, make sure your comments are at least 5 words!

  • "This information is so helpful!"

  • "This skin routine is amazing!"

  • "These travel tips are great!"

  • "Thank you for this information, I can't wait to try this out!"

Why comment things like this? It tricks the algorithm into thinking that the content isn't about Sudan and is instead about travel/vlogging content, makeup tutorials, etc. By doing this you're helping to trick the TikTok algorithm, keeping these videos from being shadow banned.

What shouldn't you comment?

  • - "Boost", this is something the algorithm looks for to suppress.

  • - Random strings of emojis, tiktok considers this spam, meaning it's more harmful than helpful to the post's performance.

Digital Wheatpasting

By commenting information about what's happening on large creator's videos who aren't at risk of being shadow banned you can trick the algothirm into thinking that the content was about Sudan. Once the algorthim has been tricked searching the creator's name can bring up more news about what's happening. It also helps to spread the information to those who might be ill-informed.
